Deepika Padukone received much fame after being paired with Shah Rukh Khan in her debut film Om Shanti Om. And while she has gone places – from Chandni Chowk to China – there’s another newbie on the block, who’ll soon be trying to secure her place in B-Town.

A model yet again, Anushka Sharma is the fortunate girl to be roped into Aditya Chopra’s next film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The 19-year old from Bangalore has already floored Yash Chopra, the King of Romance and soft pastels. He tells us, “We were looking for someone who could truly embody the spirit of small town Punjab, and Anushka fits the bill.

She may have had no previous acting experience, but we have seen that unique spark in her. We’re confident that she’ll stand out even opposite Shah Rukh.” The film will go on floors on May 16 and hit the theatre screens on December 12. In a quick start-to-finish schedule, lets hope Rab has some big plans for Anushka. And that this is just the beginning!
